Autofindr helps organise AutoTrader Canada vehicle searches around your make, model, budget and available location controls. Use the Canadian catalogue and review the configuration before activating a search. The goal is a manageable flow of vehicles you can investigate, not simply the largest number of adverts.
Review the supported area carefully
The anonymous AutoTrader Canada integration uses its supported default area. Do not assume a custom radius from another marketplace will carry over. Read the area explanation in Autofindr and check the location of every candidate before planning an inspection.
If you need a wider search, evaluate the options available in the app instead of assuming that changing a number forces a wider provider search. Local geography and the actual collection route can matter more than a nominal straight-line distance.
Check kilometres and specification together
Compare stated odometer readings in the same unit. If an advert or imported vehicle description is ambiguous about miles and kilometres, ask for confirmation before applying your purchase limit. Unknown mileage should remain unknown.
Also compare body type, trim, engine and transmission. A familiar model name is not enough to establish equivalence. An SUV with a different drivetrain or seating layout may not belong in the same buying shortlist even if the headline prices are close.
Example: a compact SUV shortlist
Set a budget and acceptable year band for a CR-V or RAV4, then review gearbox, drivetrain and stated mileage. Keep candidates with missing information in a separate review step until the seller answers your questions.
When comparing across AutoTrader Canada and Kijiji, retain the same requirements but review each source’s area controls. Avoid counting the same car advertised twice as two independent examples of market value.
Finish the review on the original advert
Return to the seller’s listing to confirm availability, price wording and inspection arrangements. Autofindr provides discovery and organisation; it does not verify seller statements or complete the transaction.
After buying, record the actual purchase amount and itemised costs in the vehicle’s currency. Use the register’s export when you need a separate copy, and keep original purchase documents outside the app.
