AUTOFINDR FAQ
Autofindr questions
and answers.
What to know about your searches, your shortlist and your purchase records. These answers explain Autofindr's current search-to-record workflow, including marketplace variation, baselines, alert limits, conditional comparisons and the checks that remain with the buyer.
What is a used car alert app?
A used car alert app monitors a saved vehicle brief over time and notifies you when it detects a listing that appears to match. It is different from a live inventory marketplace. Autofindr checks selected supported sources, keeps the original advert link and leaves availability, seller details and vehicle condition for you to verify.
Can one vehicle search monitor several marketplaces?
Yes. One Autofindr vehicle search can use several supported marketplaces for its country, subject to available controls and plan capacity. Each source can expose different filters, location behavior and listing fields, so review the marketplace resolutions shown before activation.
Does Autofindr publish live car inventory?
No. Autofindr is a search-monitoring and vehicle-record workflow, not an inventory marketplace. It detects matching adverts on supported sources and links you to the original listing. Use the marketplace itself when you want to browse its current inventory or contact a seller.
What is the difference between a new-listing alert and a price-drop alert?
A new-listing alert identifies an advert newly detected after a search baseline. A price-drop alert depends on an earlier observation of the same advert and reports a lower observed asking price. Neither event proves availability, condition, seller motivation or final sale price.
How often can a vehicle search check?
Available checking frequencies depend on the plan, marketplace and search capacity shown in the configurator. The selected interval is not a delivery-time promise because source availability, processing, networks and the notification channel can add delay.
Can I search for an exact trim or rare specification?
Yes, where the marketplace exposes the necessary controls. Use separate generation, body, engine or powertrain, gearbox and trim criteria when available. If a field is missing, keep it as a manual seller question and consider a separate broader discovery search for poorly described adverts.
Do I need to share marketplace login details?
No. Autofindr does not request or store marketplace usernames or passwords. If contacting a seller requires an account, follow the match to the original marketplace and sign in there using that service's own security process.
Is Autofindr suitable for vehicle flippers?
Autofindr supports focused sourcing searches, candidate review and purchase-to-sale records with itemised costs. It does not guarantee a profitable resale, inspect the vehicle or replace local licensing, tax, accounting and trading guidance.
Can independent dealers use Autofindr alongside a DMS?
Yes. A dealer can use Autofindr as a supplementary public-marketplace sourcing workflow while keeping its DMS or other approved system authoritative for inventory, customers, compliance and accounting. Autofindr is not a DMS and does not imply auction or trade-in integration.
Are comparable asking prices completed sale prices?
No. Comparable asking prices are amounts visible in relevant adverts, not confirmed transaction proceeds. An advert disappearing does not reveal whether the vehicle sold or the final amount. Use comparisons as context and keep their vehicle and source differences visible.
What should I do after receiving a promising alert?
Open the original advert, confirm the vehicle identity, full asking price and location, compare it with your brief, and list missing facts. Contact the seller with focused questions and arrange appropriate independent inspection before travel, payment or purchase.
How do Autofindr vehicle alerts work?
Create a vehicle search, select supported marketplaces and choose an available checking frequency. Autofindr checks for matching listings and uses the alert options configured in your workspace. Marketplace availability, listing visibility and delivery conditions can affect when an alert arrives.
Will a new search alert me about every existing listing?
No. A new or changed search establishes a baseline of existing listings. It then looks for newly detected matches, so old adverts are not replayed as a flood of new-listing alerts. Use the original marketplace when you want to browse its existing inventory.
What vehicles is Autofindr for?
Cars and light commercial vehicles. Autofindr is designed for private buyers, vehicle flippers and independent dealers.
Which countries are included?
The launch markets are Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and New Zealand. Marketplace coverage and available search fields vary by country.
Why are some vehicle details missing or different?
Autofindr works with the information available from the source listing. Sellers may omit trim, mileage, engine or gearbox details, and marketplaces expose different fields. An empty field is unknown, not evidence that a car lacks a feature. Confirm important details with the seller before travelling.
Can I use the same radius on every marketplace?
Not always. Sources may use fixed distances, regions, districts or their default local area. Select a suggested place in Autofindr and review each marketplace's available distance controls. One location does not guarantee an identical search boundary across sources.
Can I search Facebook Marketplace without sharing my login?
Autofindr does not request your Facebook credentials. Supported searches use the listings and controls available to the integration; results can differ from your own signed-in marketplace view. Open the original listing when you want to contact its seller.
Can I add a purchase found somewhere else?
Yes. Start a register entry from an Autofindr listing or enter a vehicle manually. Add the purchase, costs, notes and eventual sale in the same register.
How long are favourites and purchase records kept?
The normal feed keeps matches for 30 days; favourites keep them for 90 days from the match date. Register entries remain for two calendar years from purchase, or until an Autofindr subscription has lapsed continuously for 90 days, whichever comes first. Export records you need to keep longer.
Can I export purchase records and costs?
Yes. The flipping register supports CSV exports for your own records and analysis. Export before the retention deadline if you need a longer history. Check that purchases, costs and completed sales are entered accurately; an export cannot fill in costs you have not recorded.
How many searches does a plan include?
Capacity depends on the marketplaces and checking frequency used by each active search. Plans provide reusable units rather than a universal fixed search count. The configurator shows the required units before saving. Pausing a search releases its units for other searches.
Where can I manage a trial or subscription?
The pricing page shows current prices and trial details from the Autofindr price book. The workspace confirms eligibility and the final billing total. Use its billing controls to check renewal dates, plan capacity and auto-renewal. Weekly and monthly subscriptions are managed independently.
Can I download Autofindr on iPhone or Android?
Native iOS and Android releases are being prepared. Store download links are not available here yet. The responsive web workspace supports mobile browsers; the Mobile page explains the current availability.
Do you need my marketplace passwords?
No. Autofindr does not ask for or store marketplace login credentials. You contact sellers and complete vehicle purchases on the marketplace or directly with the seller.
